The new design is entirely hand-finished from 3” (76mm) non-magnetic T304 stainless steel and is light, beautifully made and outperforms the factory system in every possible way. This latest system also benefits from a significantly lighter rear silencer box, which has now been designed without any internal valving to offer a rich, consistent note with minimal restriction. Each of the bends has been mandrel-formed by Milltek’s time-served craftsmen, using the latest CNC technology balanced with traditional finishing techniques to ensure great flow, combined with exceptional looks. With technology gleaned from the firm’s extensive involvement in BTCC and Time Attack, this new Golf system offers genuine racecar levels of fit and finish, within the grasp of the true enthusiast.
As well as significant breathing improvements, Milltek’s engineers have managed to pare down the weight of the new system over its OE counterpart, thanks to the use of high quality materials, helping to reduce mass on the car, as well as significantly improving drivability, power and torque - particularly in the all-important mid-range.
The new 3" pipework offers the optimum balance of gasflow and back pressure, with precision jigging and mandrel bending ensuring an even curvature through each bend. This attractive exhaust is finished off with a choice of the gorgeous GT100 trims in either polished, black or titanium finishes.
System options include either resonated or non-resonated configurations; both work perfectly with the current Milltek 3” downpipe with either the high flow cat or 3” de-cat downpipes, to suit the owner’s preference or any prevailing legal requirements.
